SILENCE OF SPACE

Silence of Space, 2011

We encounter objects that are a part of our everyday lives. We are connected with these objects directly or indirectly; and what is more, we take them for granted. We may even say they serve as a kind of an interface between human and nature (a trash can) or as a mediator between people (a phone booth). The fact that they are merged with the environment causes the absence of perception. We only begin to realize their existence when they are not where they are supposed to be or rather when they are gone.

We are talking about street furniture.

The presented photos are a part of my living environment, which I come across daily. Seemingly subtle, but nonetheless important structures are an indispensable part of the urban environment.
