Photography exhibition by ANA STRAŽE

5. 7. – 1. 9. 2017, Savinjsko nabrežje at Mestna plaža Celje

The artist of the younger generation Ana Straže researches portrait photography in her newest project, namely, the whole-statue portraits in a large format depicting owners with their four-legged companions. They represent the most loyal users of the Savinjsko nabrežje embankment path. Placing the portrayed individuals into an intimate environment of a civic apartment presents a link to a civic portrait of the 19th century. The setting also carries a significant meaning, since it is a “gallery” outside of a typical gallery space. In this way, the author enters the public space with the contemporary art. This project, followed by a future newspaper carrying the same name, wishes to connect all the users of the embankment in a relaxed and urban way, especially the most loyal ones – the dog walkers. We wish to connect, express opinions, warn, inform, but mostly, cultivate this part of the town with united work.

Organizer: PLEVNIK-KRONKOWSKA Gallery in collaboration with Celje FOKUS
